Can Garay tower was built between 1904 and 1906. It was part of a big estate with a huge garden and an elegant tower covered with glazed ceramic. The family company which paid the project was the famous "Citrania, la bebida de España”. Nowadays, the building has been classified as an asset of Architectural Heritage and the same family have turned it into a small Modernist hotel. As for its surroundings, it was not until the 1940s, after the Civil War, that houses were built near the regional road. They were single family houses quite similar, despite the variety of architects who designed the project: Josep Esteve, Joan Aubert i Ricard Aguirre, among others. Later some industrial buildings, hostels and bars were also constructed.
