Santa Maria de Castellar de la Muntanya church

You can reach Santa Maria de Castellar de la Muntanya church by taking the path crossing Sant Joan les Fonts and the Bianya creek, going up the Vivers range and ending near the church. Despite the late reforms, Santa Maria de Castellar de la Muntanya church is a typical temple of the 12th century. The semi-circular apse is located in the east. Both the sacristy and the rectory, added in the 18th century, are located in the south. The building has a single nave with barrel vault; the bell tower was also added at a later date. Inside the church there is a simple baptismal font, with a cylindrical body and no ornamentation.
