Sant Aniol de Finestres church is mentioned for the first time in 979. It has a Romanesque origin, although only the semicircular apse and some walls are left from the original construction. In 1997, while the presbytery of the parish church was being renewed, a Roman mosaic was discovered. The characteristics of the room seem to indicate they were the remains of a small temple. Apparently, the mosaic was the floor of its single room.
