Can Solà

Description

Built in 1622, this house is a great example of the construction boom by the end of the 16thand beginning of the 17th centuries and which the historian Xavier Solà detailed in the ICongrés del Món de la masia (First masia World Congress) celebrated in the Institut d'Estudis Catalans. It belonged to the Solà family, which had a textile industry. The Solà family ordered the construction of this spectacular house in the centre of Sant Feliu de Pallerols, right in the Firal square, to Joan Giralt and Blasi Mas, two experienced French master builders. This is the reason why Cal Solà's features r.esemble those of masLlongafollia, located on the outskirts of the village, which had been constructed by the same master builders
