Can Trincheria

Description

Can Trincheria is one of the largest manor houses in Olot. The name of the house comes from the Trincheria family lineage, key historical players in the military and in politics. The house was built in the first half of the eighteenth century, but the present building is the result of many modifications carried out over the years. The building has three floors and a rooftop. The first floor was inhabited by the nobility, in the second floor there were the rooms and the third one was used to store food. A key characteristic feature of the house is the original decoration of the walls with landscapes and mythological scenes, in addition to its historical furniture. One element that has contributed to the house's popularity is its nativity scene, featuring items from different periods and artists, which include figures by the sculptor Ramon Amadeu.
