Can Vayreda

Can Vayreda is found in Vayreda Street and it is the old house of the famous family lineage from Olot. It was built in the 18th century and modified in the 19th. In front of this construction there is Vayreda's sculpture, one of the founders of the Art Cristià, displayed in the Museum of Saints. Vayreda's lineage has given the city illustrious figures such as the painter Joaquim Vayreda or his sibling, the painter and sculptor Marià Vayreda, who is the author of books such as La Punyalada (The Stab) or Records de la darrera carlinada (Memories of the Last Carlist War).
