Clarà square arches and Fira del Dibuix (Drawing Fair)

Description

Clarà square was inaugurated in 1883 and is characteristic for its arches and inner gardens. It is also known as Parc Vell (Old Park) and is located where the old Capuchin convent stood in the 17th century, which was burned down during the First Carlist War. The square is Noucentista and dates from 1925. The inner gardens are the perfect place to rest in the summer. You can also admire the sculpture La Maternitat, a work by the sculptor Josep Clarà. On the 18th of October, the Clarà square celebrates a Drawing Fair. This event commemorates the artistic past of the city and gathers a great numbers of painters and artists.
