Estada Juvinyà Medieval castle

Description

It is a strong Medieval construction which was once home to the Juvinyà family. On the main façade we can observe its two parts: the tower, dating from the 12th century, and the rest of the house, dating from the 14th century. The water canal surrounding the tower which dates back to the 13th century must also be noted. It was primarily used for moving the machinery of the flour mill. This building was classified as an asset of National Interest in 1972 and, nowadays, it is home to several exhibitions about the building and the village's history. On the second floor there is a permanent exhibition which displays the remains found in the municipality.
