Sant Feliu de Riu church

Description

Located in the valley of Riu, where in the past there had been a copper mine, the church of Sant Feliu de Riu was built in the 12th century, although there aren't any documented references until the 13th century. It has a single nave with a semi-circular apse to the east. The entrance door is located on the west façade and is formed by three graded arches, a lintel and a tympanum. The shape of the ironwork is different in every gate leaf. Inside the church there is a rectangular font made of stone. Its shape indicates that, originally, it was not destined to be a baptismal font, but an oil font, where the holy oils, the wine or the offerings were kept. On one of its sides there is a crucifixion decorated with motifs.
