Sant Miquel de la Miana church

Description

The documented references of Sant Miquel de la Miana are scarce and date back to 1279 and 1280. The primitive structure of this Romanesque church had a single nave bounded by a semi-circular apse and barrel vault. The rest of its elements were added at a later date. Initially, the entrance door was on the noon façade, according to Romanesque style characteristics. There are only two openings left of this time: the windows close to the apse. Over the centuries it has been modified several times and, therefore, its origin is unknown. One of its most remarkable elements, the bell tower, is not Romanesque and was built at a later date.
