Houses of Sant Sebastià

Description

The growth ofthe town during the 16" century promoted the construction of a group of houses on the old land of la Fradera (documented for the first time in 1342), situated on the left bank of the River Brugent and connected to the town centre via the royal road. This neighbourhood developed different commercial and industrial activities. The smitheries stand out, as shown by the lintels on some of the doors, for instance, the house of the master smith Antoni Pou, Can Mau (1566), or the house of the smith Joan Fabrega with its hammers, horseshoes and anvil symbols.
