Sant Miquel del Corb church

Description

Sant Miquel del Corb church stands on the top of a hill, on the northern slope of the Corb range, near the old road leading to Santa Pau, in Osona. It is one of the oldest churches in the county of La Garrotxa. In fact, there is evidence that shows it could even be a pre-Romanesque construction, and it seems to have been the primitive parish church. The building has survived through the centuries and has a single nave with a barrel vault, which indicates us it had undergone some modifications during the Romanesque period. In fact, there is evidence that shows that, in the 13th century, the ceiling of Sant Miquel chapel was heightened. The church also has a bell tower with a four sided slanted roof, supported to the east façade of the building.
